The role holder will contribute to the development of the Career Progression and Promotion Team, and lead and manage key talent processes and strategic and operational projects.The role holder is responsible for managing all of the key talent processes end to end including Probation, Performance Management, all promotion and progression rounds in line with the relevant policies and procedures including but not limited to Junior Academic Progression (Assistant Professor Merit Bar Review and/or Accelerated Advancement), Senior Academic Promotions, Senior Academic and Academic Consultant Promotions in conjunction with the School of Dental Science and the Dublin Dental University Hospital, Clinical Staff Promotions, confined promotion rounds, Senior Adjunct and Honorary Professor Titles, Academic Retention, and the Annual Reviews for Assistant Professors on Tenure Track.As the Career Progression and Promotions Manager you will:Lead end‑to‑end talent processes including probation, promotions, progressions, titles and retention.Coordinate academic and clinical promotion committees and all associated review rounds.Oversee progression processes for technical and professional staff across the University.Drive working groups and focus groups to support policy and process development.Provide expert guidance on complex HR queries related to talent policies and proceduresWork collaboratively across HR to deliver efficient, high-quality talent processes and meet key deadlineTo be successful in this role you will need:University degree in a relevant field or substantial proven experience in a comparable role.Minimum 5+ years' Human Resources experience with direct interaction and accountability to senior stakeholders.Excellent communication skills, including presentations, report writing, briefing documents, and confident engagement at all levels.Ability to build effective relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.Ability to facilitate workshops, committee briefings, and training programmes related to career progression and promotions.Proven ability to work on own initiative, manage multiple priorities and projects, and meet deadlines.Strong understanding of HR's role in talent management, particularly career progression and promotion processes.Experience in project management, including planning, stakeholder engagement, budget monitoring, and status reporting.Up‑to‑date knowledge of Irish employment law, HR best practice, and public‑sector requirements relevant to probation, academic progressions, promotions, and academic titles.Up‑to‑date understanding of Equality, Diversity and Inclusion principles, including Athena Swan, and their application to talent management.Proficiency in working with HR systems.
