Payroll Specialist – Maternity Leave Cover
Exciting opportunity at our head office – we're hiring a Payroll Specialist to cover maternity leave in a fast-paced, non-stop environment.
About the Job:
The Payroll Specialist will report to the Financial Accountant and be responsible for managing the Payroll Office to ensure timely salaries and wages, as well as filing payroll taxes and returns on time.
Main Responsibilities:
1. End-to-end processing of weekly payrolls within the organization.
2. Collaborate with HR to ensure all processes are followed.
3. Liaise with relevant authorities and software providers.
4. Manage Holiday Pay, Lieu Time, Bank Holidays, Sick Pay, and new starter setup.
5. Compile and file required reports, including year-end close and reporting.
6. Work with restaurant managers to ensure payroll accuracy.
7. Produce and distribute weekly management reports.
8. Be the main contact for employees regarding payroll information and discrepancies.
9. Support the wider finance team with reporting and queries.
10. Implement processes to improve productivity, efficiency, and maintain best practices.
Requirements:
1. Experience with payroll systems, specifically Sage Micropay.
2. Good organizational skills.
3. Highly motivated with the ability to use initiative.
4. Ability to meet deadlines.
5. Self-starter capable of working with minimal supervision.
6. Effective multi-tasker with focus on key priorities.
7. Attention to detail and commitment to task completion.
8. Confident with positive working relationships.
9. Flexibility to adapt to changing role requirements.
10. Ideally IPASS certified.
