CSA Lead – Pharmaceutical Construction Projects – Cork

Our client, a leading multinational engineering consultancy, is seeking an experienced CSA Lead to join their construction management team in Cork. This role focuses on overseeing the Civil, Structural, and Architectural delivery of major pharmaceutical construction projects, ensuring successful execution on site and alignment with project goals.
As the CSA Lead, you will be responsible for the management and coordination of all CSA construction activities across large-scale pharma projects. Working directly on site, you will provide leadership across contractors, manage interfaces between disciplines, ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and drive the project towards successful delivery.
You will act as a key site-based representative, supporting the overall construction management team while ensuring that CSA packages are executed efficiently, safely, and in line with scope and schedule.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all CSA construction activities across pharmaceutical project sites
* Manage civil, structural, and architectural contractors and ensure adherence to project specifications
* Coordinate interfaces with M&E, process, and project management teams
* Monitor construction progress, schedules, and site deliverables
* Ensure compliance with safety procedures, quality standards, and regulatory requirements
* Review and approve site documentation, method statements, permits, and inspection reports
* Address site issues proactively, escalating where required to ensure timely resolution
* Conduct regular site walks, inspections, and progress meetings
* Support project controls, reporting, and stakeholder communications
* Provide leadership and direction to CSA supervisory staff and subcontractors
Requirements
* Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
* 8+ years' experience in CSA construction roles, ideally within pharma or advanced manufacturing
* Strong background in managing contractors and site-based CSA activities
* Excellent knowledge of Irish construction regulations, safety standards, and compliance frameworks
* Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
* Ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in a fast-paced construction environment
* Experience working with multinational consultancy or EPCM organisations is an advantage
* Robust problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to site challenges
