Financial Reporting Manager
The Gallery wishes to recruit a Financial Reporting Manager on a permanent basis. This role sits within the Finance Department and plays a pivotal role in supporting the external and internal financial reporting of the Gallery. The Financial Reporting Manager will work closely with the Head of Finance & Systems and external stakeholders including the Department of Culture, Communications and Sport, Comptroller and Auditor General and Internal auditors. This post is suited to a qualified accountant with public sector experience who has a proven ability to collaborate with a high degree of attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
* Preparation of annual statutory accounts
* Preparation of monthly management accounts
* Completion of quarterly exchequer grant submissions
* Maintenance of all finance policies and procedures
* Fixed Asset register maintenance
* Coordinate annual statutory audit and internal audits
* Project Management reporting
* Management of the Accounts Payable Supervisor and the Assistant Accountant
Qualifications
* A professional accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) with a number of years spent working in a finance function in a public sector environment
* Excellent stakeholder management skills, with an ability to work with stakeholders externally and internally across different departments, challenging and supporting them constructively to achieve common goals
* Experience in ensuring expenditure to public sector spending codes, compliance, and regulatory frameworks
* Demonstrable experience in a financial reporting and knowledge of the public sector environment is preferred
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities to extract, correlate, and interpret data
* High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and various financial systems eg Integra
* Excellent communication skills to articulate complex financial information clearly

* A non‑EEA citizen who has a Stamp 4 permission or a Stamp 5 permission
Salary & Benefits
* The salary for this position will be in accordance with the Engineer Grade II & Professional Accountant Grade II (PPC) pay scale, as per the 1 August 2025 pay adjustments. The starting salary will be at the first point on the scale, €74,701 per annum, or a higher point if appointed from an existing public sector role
* Candidates should note the National Gallery of Ireland complies with Department of Public Expenditure and Reform regulations and guidelines on Public Service pay and conditions of employment
* Annual leave entitlement: 27 days pro‑rata
* Public sector pension scheme (Superannuation)
* Participation in the tax saver and cycle‑to‑work schemes
Working hours and Location
Full time, 5 days a week – 35 hours per week (net of breaks). Flexibility is required and occasional late evenings and weekends may be required.
