Senior Environmental Scientist Job Summary:

This role involves managing projects and overseeing a team of junior environmental scientists. The successful candidate will be working on various projects related to wind energy, renewables, waste-to-energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.

Main Responsibilities:
\

1. Manage and oversee projects from inception to completion, ensuring client expectations are met.
\
2. Oversee, guide, and manage junior team members to deliver project requirements.
\
3. Take ownership of project profitability and provide regular updates to the project director and clients.
\
4. Report to the project director on project performance.
\
5. Prioritize projects while balancing client expectations, available staff resources, and project deadlines.
\
6. Manage and implement business development initiatives for the team.
\
7. Win new work by preparing and overseeing the preparation of fee proposals and identifying opportunities in the marketplace.
\
8. Analyzing and resolving issues that arise during project execution.
\
9. Maintaining accurate records of project progress and outcomes.
\
10. Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure smooth project delivery.
\
11. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
\
12. Developing and implementing strategies to improve team performance and efficiency.
\
13. Providing guidance and support to junior team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.

Requirements:
\
\
14. A third-level qualification in environmental science or a related field.
\
15. A minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience in a similar role.
\
16. Excellent understanding of the Irish planning system.
\
17. Broad range of large-scale project experience at EIAR/Planning/Construction stage.
\
18. Comprehensive knowledge of civil engineering, construction management, ecology, hydrology/hydrogeology, noise, air, traffic, geotechnical, and other EIAR subject areas.
\
19. Strong leadership and project management skills.
\
20. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\
21. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
\
22. Self-motivated and proactive approach to work.
