Speech and Language Therapist - Adults (Complex Needs)Location:Meath, Dublin, KildareContract:Full-Time or Part-Time | PermanentOverview:This role offers a qualified Speech and Language Therapist the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team, supporting adults with complex needs including intellectual disabilities, autism, acquired brain injury (ABI), and/or mental health conditions. The therapist will provide assessment, therapy, and communication-focused interventions that promote independence and quality of life.Key Responsibilities:Manage a caseload of adults with complex communication and/or swallowing needsDeliver evidence-based assessments and interventionsProvide individual and group therapy, as appropriateCollaborate with MDT colleagues and contribute to care planningMaintain accurate and timely clinical documentationSupport service development and participate in audits and quality improvement initiativesOffer informal supervision or mentoring to junior staff or studentsParticipate in CPD activities and maintain professional registrationEssential Requirements:Recognised qualification in Speech and Language TherapyCurrent CORU registration (or in process if newly qualified)Minimum 3 years' post-qualification experience working with adults with ID, ASD, ABI, or complex needsExperience in communication assessment and interventionKnowledge of dysphagia assessment and management (with post-grad training if applicable)Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamFull driving licence and access to own transportDesirable Skills/Experience:Experience with AAC systems and communication supports (e.g. LÁMH, PECS)Postgraduate training in adult dysphagiaInvolvement in service development or clinical auditSupporting behaviours of concern as part of a multidisciplinary planUse of outcome measures to track clinical progressExperience supervising students or junior staff
