The Director of Sales holds full responsibility for leading and managing all active sales functions within the hotel. This role is focused on maximising total hotel revenue by strategically directing sales activities in alignment with the hotel’s commercial business plan. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, results-driven professional with strong analytical capabilities and a commitment to excellence. All responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the hotel’s and Radisson’s operational standards, its strategic objectives, and the overarching Sales & Marketing strategy of the iNUA Hotel Collection.
Managing the hotel's active sales function
* Revenue Delivery: Accountable for achieving the annual MICE, Corporate, Leisure & Wedding revenue targets through strategic sales planning.
* Sales Execution: Drives overall budgeted sales performance by proactively soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and confirming business opportunities across key segments.
* Lead Generation: Implements a structured approach to lead generation via targeted sales campaigns and monthly client outreach to support revenue goals.
* Event Acquisition: Secures new business for the hotel’s conference, meeting and event spaces by targeting diverse event types including national conferences, meetings, sporting functions, charity events, and corporate gatherings.
* Wedding Acquisition: Works collaboratively with the Hotel Wedding Planner to drive the wedding strategy growth goal for the Hotel.
* Team Leadership: Provides active leadership and operational oversight of the Sales and Meeting & Events team, ensuring alignment with business objectives and service standards.
* Key Account Management: Oversees the hotel’s top 10 corporate accommodation accounts, conducting regular performance reviews and ensuring inclusion in annual corporate RFPs while safeguarding pricing integrity.
* Corporate Development: Identifies and contracts new corporate transient accounts in line with the hotel’s strategic account acquisition process.
* Local Market Engagement: Cultivates strong relationships with local business clients to enhance the hotel’s visibility and reputation within the Belfast market.
* Networking & Representation: Represents the hotel at i.e. Chamber of Commerce, Tourism stakeholders and other professional networking events to drive brand awareness and business development.
* Client Engagement: Supports the planning and execution of quarterly and annual corporate hospitality events to strengthen client relationships.
* CRM Utilisation: Ensures full and effective use of the hotel’s CRM system (“Mindaclient”) to manage client interactions and sales activities.
* Site Inspections: Delivers exceptional site inspection experiences, aiming for a minimum 90% performance rating in mystery guest audits.
* Group Sales Collaboration: Participates in trade shows, workshops, sales blitzes, and consumer events in collaboration with the iNUA Hotel Collection Sales team to expand market reach.
* Strategic Projects: Develops and executes targeted sales initiatives across all market segments as outlined in the hotel’s business plan and iNUA Hotel Sales collections strategic objectives to drive growth.
* Sales Planning: Attends bi-annual strategic planning meetings with the Group Director of Sales to align on priorities and adapt to evolving business needs.
* Forecasting Support: Assists the General Manager in preparing accurate monthly MICE revenue forecasts to inform operational planning and decision-making.
Marketing
* Annual Marketing Activity plan to be developed and reviewed quarterly with General Manager and the iNUA Group Support Marketing Account Manager
* Advertising to be designed in accordance with the INUA Group Support office and Radisson brand standards
* Support the Social Media function of the property with the INUA Group Support office and Radisson brand standards
Requirements
* 3 years’ experience in a similar senior Hotel sales role
* Strong knowledge of the MICE, Corporate & Wedding market
* Up to date with the latest trends in Hotel Sales & Hotel Marketing
