We are looking for a talented and experienced professional to join our Operations team as a Senior Lead Engineer. As part of this role, you will be responsible for the delivery of our primary objective – the operation, development and enhancement of the power system and the wholesale electricity market.
Job Description
The Operations Office is at the heart of everything we do, ensuring that everyone has access to reliable and sustainable energy. Our team works closely with stakeholders to develop, test and implement the operational systems, tools, standards and policies required to operate the power system and integrate new technologies and innovations in a secure manner.
Your key responsibilities will include:
* Developing and implementing technical procedures and specifications to ensure safe and secure operation of the grid
* Commissioning and testing transmission infrastructure to meet future needs
* Integrating HVDC systems and control center readiness
* Managing grid and network code compliance
In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be expected to:
* Lead the development of strategies and frameworks to ensure resilience, business continuity and emergency response plans are fit for purpose
* Manage interconnector operations and maintenance
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver projects and programmes on time and within budget
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong background in electrical engineering or a related field, with a minimum of 6 years' experience in power system operations. You should also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with customers and stakeholders.
You will be expected to have a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards, as well as experience in project management, data analysis and problem-solving.
