We are looking for an intermediate-level Process Project Engineer to join our dynamic and innovative OTS team, working on a client site. The Process Project Engineer will be responsible for managing the implementation of a portfolio of projects onsite, as part of the base capital projects team. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of working with multi-disciplinary engineering project management teams, in the Food, BioPharma, Pharma or Medtech sectors, and taking end-to-end ownership of capital project execution.
Responsibilities
* Leading the execution of capital projects ensuring best practices using engineering, regulatory & environmental standards
* Overseeing the design, procurement, budgeting, installation, testing, factory acceptance testing, validation, commissioning and handover of new process equipment / safety upgrades to operations
* Project identification with subsequent scope and business case development
* Agreement of project scope including Technical requirements, ATEX requirements, CIP requirements, Machinery Safety (CE Mark) requirements and cleanability
* Developing the Request for Proposal (RFP) and User Requirement Specification (URS) and issuing to contractor
* Issuing tender documents to contractors and follow through to award
* Developing CAPEX documentation and gaining approval
* Participating in HAZOP studies
* Developing Change Control document for works/changes to commence on site
* Leading the project kickoff meeting with relevant project stakeholders (Process, electrical, automation & civil contractors)
* Leading the project constructability review meeting (i.e. scaffolding, MEWP, hot works, crane lifts etc)
* Approval of project schedule and monitoring timelines, critical path of project throughout the project lifecycle
* Managing snag lists, weld logs, test packs, test inspection plans, redline drawings, P&ID upgrades etc.
* Approving technical submittals from contractor (Materials, equipment datasheets, tank drawings, Isometrics etc)
* Reviewing/approving method statements prior to issuing permit to work on site. (Cold works, hot works, working at height, confined space, red tag and LOTO)
* Responding to contractor RFI's in a timely and efficient manner
* Leading weekly progress report meetings and the weekly safety review meeting
* Ensuring any project changes are communicated accordingly to different departments
Qualifications
* Degree qualification in Process or Chemical Engineering ONLY
* Experience working in a highly regulated environment such as BioPharma, Pharma, medical device, Food or Semi-conductor
* Experience with various utility systems, such as chillers, HVAC, purified water etc.
* Experience directing / supervision of construction projects would be an advantage
* Good level of project management skills
* Effective communication, presentation and documentation skills
* 'Can do' attitude and enthusiasm to get the job done.
