Job Role Overview
This is a highly rewarding role as an Early Years Educator in a dynamic public university setting.
The successful candidate will work in close co-operation with the Manager and other team members to provide a safe, secure, stimulating environment for children.
Key Responsibilities
Principal Duties:
* To act as a key worker to specified children and ensure their safety and wellbeing at all times.
* To assist in the planning and implementation of an age-appropriate stimulating programme of activities which will enhance the child's natural growth and development.
* To maintain high quality and safety standards in the childcare setting.
* To guide, observe, stimulate, and supervise children in a safe and caring environment.
Care of Children:
* To be attentive to the needs of the children in your care.
* To communicate effectively with children at their level and provide personal care if necessary.
* To carry out planned and unplanned observations using the observation system and materials.
* To promote good eating habits among the children.
Training and Meetings:
* To undertake first aid training, fire safety and manual handling courses as required.
* To participate in staff meetings and contribute to discussions on childcare practices.
Curriculum/Activities:
* To participate in the planning and implementation of daily developmental activities for children.
* To introduce children to play equipment based on their individual needs.
Health and Safety:
* To report any safety hazards or risks immediately to the Manager.
* To maintain a safe, clean, and healthy environment for the children.
Administration:
* To maintain accurate records and documents in compliance with relevant regulations.
Communication:
* To communicate regularly with the team members, Manager, and parents as appropriate.
