Job Title: Operations Manager Retail Division Remuneration: Competitive salary commensurate with experience, with performance-related incentives About the Company Our client is a well-established and highly regarded building supplies business based in Wexford, with a strong footprint in the region and a reputation for quality, service, and reliability. The company is currently seeking a senior Operations Manager to take full ownership of its retail division and play a key role in the ongoing growth and strategic direction of the business. About the Role This is a senior leadership position with full operational responsibility for the retail division, overseeing all commercial, logistical, and team-related functions. The successful candidate will inherit a capable and experienced team and will be expected to lead from the frontenhancing systems, maintaining high standards, and driving performance and profitability. There is significant scope for autonomy, innovation, and long-term contribution as a core member of the leadership team. Key Responsibilities Take full day-to-day and strategic responsibility for the retail division, working closely with senior management. Lead an experienced team, providing guidance, mentorship, and continued professional development. Maintain and build on a strong culture of teamwork, customer service, and operational excellence. Manage procurement and supplier relationships to ensure optimal stock levels, pricing, and margins. Monitor sales, purchasing, and cost control activities to ensure strong commercial performance. Identify opportunities to grow market share, enhance customer experience, and streamline operations. Implement and oversee KPIs, operational reporting, and process improvement initiatives. Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to align business objectives and deliver results. Candidate Profile Senior-level operational or retail management experience within building supplies, trade/DIY retail, or a similar product-based sector. Proven track record in leading teams, managing commercial performance, and delivering results. Excellent people management skills with a natural leadership style and a strong team ethic. Sound knowledge of purchasing, margin control, and business operations. Commercially minded, hands-on, and capable of making informed, confident decisions.
