Job Title: Staff Grade Occupational Therapist - Children's Disability Services Location: Sligo Contract: Full-time 1-year contract Salary: Aligned with HSE pay scale for Staff grade OT. Excel Healthcare is currently seeking a Staff grade Occupational Therapist to join a Child Disability Network Team in Sligo. This role is a fantastic chance to develop your skills while making a positive impact on the lives of children with disabilities. Successful candidate: You'll be based within a highly skilled MDT team, supporting children and young people with physical, sensory, and/or developmental needs, while working as part of a dynamic interdisciplinary team in a community setting. You will support children and their families to achieve functional goals and participate fully in everyday life. This MDT team includes Senior Occupational Therapists, Staff grade Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Senior & Staff Grade Speech and Language Therapist, and Senior Physiotherapists. Key Responsibilities: Provide individualised assessments, goal planning, and interventions for children with a range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs. Collaborate with families, schools, and other professionals to support holistic care. Organise individual and group caseloads, including assessments, interventions, and diagnosis for children (0-18 years) with disabilities such as physical, sensory, and learning disabilities, developmental delays, and autism. Foresee potential challenges or competing priorities and take appropriate action to maintain service standards. Foster a sense of accountability for budgets within the team, ensuring value for money. Monitor, record, and report performance outcomes and service delivery statistics to meet targets. Show innovation in managing resources to sustain and enhance service quality. Demonstrate sufficient clinical skills in occupational therapy assessment, intervention, and diagnostics to meet the specific needs of children with disabilities. Offer occupational therapy services including assessment, intervention, clinical supervision, and ongoing care to children in the early intervention service Essential: Be registered, or eligible for registration, as an Occupational Therapist with CORU. Hold full CORU Registration. Experience working with children with disabilities, including physical, sensory, intellectual, and autism spectrum disorder. Specific experience in assessing and supporting children with autism and other disabilities (desirable) Familiarity with assessments under the AON process.
