Full-time Permanent role
Salary: €40-€50K DOE Plus Benefits
Overview: We are seeking a Project Engineer for our client. The role will involve both office-based work and frequent site visits. The office location is in Co. Carlow with site visits varying depending on the contract. You will have at least 3 years’ experience, ideally in the water sector.
Responsibilities:
1. Provide support to the Project Manager.
2. Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes ensuring full spec. compliance.
3. Prepare technical submissions and reports for Client approval.
4. Generate contract programmes of work.
5. Monitor and update the progress of projects against the Contract Programme.
6. Schedule resources & contractors to ensure delivery schedule is met.
7. Prepare Method Statements and Risk Assessments for upcoming works.
8. Implement the Project Quality Control procedures.
9. Financial tracking of projects and reporting.
10. Site liaison with sub-contractors & Client Project & Resident Engineers.
11. Site surveys and generation of works packages.
12. Maintain and update the Site Safety Files ensuring full compliance with current HSA regulations.
13. Attend site for safety audits, project supervision.
14. Update drawings for construction with vendor packages.
15. Document control for all aspects of the Contract.
16. Maintain a variation and change order log.
17. Compile the O&M Manuals.
Requirements:
1. Minimum of 3-4 years Mechanical / Electrical Engineering experience which will have been in a Project Engineering role.
2. Knowledge and experience of the water and wastewater industry (not essential, but an advantage).
3. A working knowledge of AutoCAD with the capability to update drawings for construction and to coordinate between vendors and contractors.
4. Knowledge and experience of plant design, construction and commissioning.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Experience of managing contractors and sub-contractors for the delivery of projects.
7. Strong technical, delivery and commercial skills.
8. Demonstrate a pro-active, practical & flexible approach to work.
