Overview
The General Operative will support the delivery of energy-efficiency upgrades and renewable energy installations across domestic properties. The role involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team to improve building performance, reduce energy consumption, and support the companys sustainability objectives.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist with the installation of products, including preparation of materials, roof access setup, and supporting qualified installers.
* Load, unload, and move materials, tools, and equipment safely on site.
* Support qualified tradespeople (electricians, carpenters, roofers, insulation technicians) in completing project tasks.
* Prepare work areas by setting up barriers, protective coverings, and equipment as required.
* Follow all health & safety procedures, including safe handling of tools, working at heights, and use of PPE.
* Maintain a clean and organised worksite throughout project duration.
* Assist with basic measurements, marking, and cutting of materials under supervision.
* Report any issues, hazards, or equipment faults to the Site Supervisor promptly.
* Ensure all work meets required standards of quality, efficiency, and environmental compliance.
* Maintain company standards when interacting with Customers. The ability to relate and intact respectfully with vulnerable homeowners is vital.
Skills & Requirements
* Previous experience in construction or retrofitting is beneficial but not essentialtraining can be provided.
* The Ability to work with and without Supervision.
* Problem solving abilities.
* Ability to perform physical, hands-on work in a variety of building environments.
* Comfortable with working at heights and using basic hand and power tools.
* Strong teamwork skills with a positive, proactive attitude.
* Willingness to learn new skills.
* Valid Safe Pass.
* Manual handling certification.
* Full driving licence
