Senior Fund Accountant | PE/Loan Funds | 18-month Contract

A major Public Sector entity is seeking a Senior Fund Accountant to join its Irish Sovereign Funds Finance team. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on Ireland’s sovereign development and wealth funds, including strategic funds that support national infrastructure, climate, and economic growth initiatives.
This is a hands‑on role for an ambitious finance professional looking to gain exposure to private market investments, direct equity, loans, and partnership structures while contributing to high‑impact public‑sector investment programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage accounting and administration for loans, partnerships, and direct equity investments
* Review facility agreements, partnership agreements, and capital account statements
* Process capital calls, distributions, and daily cash activities, including wire payments and cash projections
* Prepare and review accounting journals, management reports, and year‑end valuations
* Input and reconcile transactions in the portfolio management system (IBOR)
* Support audits, tax reporting, and compliance with internal procedures
* Mentor junior fund accountants and support process improvements
* Collaborate with finance, investment, and project teams on portfolio operations
Candidate Profile
Experience & Qualifications
* Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) desirable but not essential
* 4+ years’ experience in fund accounting or private market investment administration
* Experience with loans, unquoted investments, and private market products essential
* Knowledge of quoted equities, bonds, funds, and derivatives is a plus
* Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with portfolio management systems (IBOR) and general ledger systems advantageous
