Senior Quantity Surveyor Cork A well-established Irish main contractor with a strong track record across residential, commercial and specialist construction projects is seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team in Cork.
The business has grown steadily over a number of decades and is known for delivering high-quality developments across Ireland.
With an expanding pipeline of projects, they are looking to strengthen their commercial team with a capable QS who can take ownership of the financial management of a major project.
This role will suit someone who enjoys operating with a high level of responsibility while working closely with senior commercial leadership on large-scale developments.
The Role The successful candidate will be responsible for the commercial oversight of a key project in the Cork region, working closely with the senior commercial team and wider project stakeholders.
Responsibilities will include managing project costs, preparing financial reports, and ensuring strong commercial controls are maintained throughout the lifecycle of the project.
Key Responsibilities Lead the commercial management of a major construction project Monitor project costs, budgets and overall financial performance Prepare valuations, variations, claims and other commercial documentation Work closely with the senior commercial lead to ensure the project is delivered within budget Maintain strong communication with project stakeholders including site teams and subcontractors Provide accurate commercial reporting throughout the duration of the project Requirements Minimum 7 years experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within construction Experience working with main contractors on large-scale residential or commercial developments is highly desirable Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline Strong commercial awareness and financial reporting capability Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider commercial team Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills Strong proficiency with standard QS software and Microsoft Office tools The Opportunity This is an opportunity to join a progressive contractor with a strong reputation in the Irish construction sector, offering exposure to large-scale developments and long-term career progression within a growing organisation.
