We are currently seeking a hands-on, collaborative Engineering Manager to join our Engineering Team. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role involves working across a broad range of solutions and technologies to support our client solutions. This is a key position in Abtran's transformation journey to become cloud-first.
Role Overview
The Engineering Manager is responsible for managing agile teams to design, develop, and deploy our technology solutions for client service operations. They provide leadership in developing, testing, deploying, and supporting scalable solutions. The role also involves people and performance management, including attracting, recruiting, developing, and retaining talented technical resources.
What We Are Looking For
* 3+ years of Engineering Team Management or Technical Lead experience with Software Development and QA Engineers
* 5+ years of agile software development experience, including leading daily standups and retrospectives
* Project management experience, managing dependencies, expectations, and stakeholder trust
* Experience managing external technology vendors and inter-team relationships
* Strong technical and collaboration skills, working closely with product managers, architects, end users, and clients
* Analytical skills for eliciting requirements, defining solutions, and capturing user stories
* Maturity in decision-making, prioritization, and backlog management
* People management experience, including conducting 1:1 meetings
Responsibilities
* Advocate for cloud-first solutions and contribute to technology roadmaps
* Own product features and work with cross-functional teams to deliver them
* Provide technical leadership, supporting problem resolution and decision-making
* Champion agile development, removing blockers and ensuring quality delivery
* Lead Level 3 engineering responses to high-impact incidents
* Mentor and manage team performance to build high-performing, mature teams
Skills
* Excellent technical abilities and communication skills
* Experience eliciting requirements and designing solutions
* Ability to scope, plan, and deliver in sprint cycles
* Organizational skills to optimize team activities
* Analytical, problem-solving, and multi-tasking skills
* Experience with Azure Cloud, Azure DevOps, .Net, API development, SQL Server, and cloud migrations is advantageous
* Knowledge of omni-channel Customer Experience and BPO solutions, including Genesys Cloud and Amazon Connect
* Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM is a plus
