We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in Kildare.
Key Responsibilities:
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Represent the company at project meetings and other commercial forums.
Support sector directors with commercial and contractual duties as required.
Collaborate with internal departments to provide accurate financial and commercial information.
Prepare interim, monthly, and final valuations; applications for payment; cost reconciliations; and contract certification.
Monitor cash flow and contract financial performance to protect company interests.
Manage subcontractor agreements and ensure timely procurement and payment.
Maintain morale and provide direction to direct reports, fostering accountability and continual improvement.
Examine and review contract documents, highlighting anomalies and ensuring full compliance with obligations.
Prepare projected financial outcomes, valuations, and cost reconciliations for contract control meetings.
Record and manage contractual delays, claims, and variations to safeguard company interests.
Attend site progress meetings and provide guidance on contractual matters.
Ensure prompt payments are received for work performed and issued for services rendered.
Advise senior management on commercial, operational, and project-related risks.
Monitor subcontractor performance and report issues to the Procurement Manager.
Safeguard company and client assets, documents, and confidential information.
Skills & Qualifications:
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g., SCSI, RICS).
Over 10 years of experience in construction, preferably with public sector contracts.
Strong experience in contract management, commercial oversight, and financial control.
Excellent negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Full clean Irish/EU driving license.
Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
