Company Description Local Development Companies Network (LDCN) is the umbrella organization supporting local development companies across Ireland.
These not-for-profit entities foster inclusive communities and empower individuals by providing services in social inclusion, employment training, enterprise support, and environmental action.
LDCN members annually assist over 170,000 individuals and 15,000 community groups through programs like LEADER, Social Inclusion Community Activation Programme, rural recreation, and health initiatives.
The organization advocates for local development companies through research, policy guidance, training, communications, and representation to policymakers.
Managed by a voluntary board, LDCN operates from its headquarters in Limerick, serving all 49 member companies.
Role Description This is a full-time hybrid role for a Communications, Programmes, and Impact Officer, based in Galway with flexibility for some remote work.
The role entails developing and delivering strategic communication initiatives, crafting and distributing press releases, and fostering media relations to promote the work of LDCN.
The officer will manage social media and digital content, contribute to reports on community impact, and coordinate events and campaigns to highlight development programs.
Close collaboration with stakeholders and members, alongside managing internal communication channels, is central to the role.
Qualifications Strong Communication, Strategic Communications, and Media Relations skills Proficiency in Writing and creating impactful Press Releases Experience managing social media and digital communications platforms Ability to coordinate events, campaigns, and stakeholder engagement activities Familiarity with community development and not-for-profit sector operations is an advantage Highly organized with strong project management and multitasking skills Degree or equivalent qualification in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field
