Applications invited for the following Post in the Technological University Dublin
Post:
Research Scientist (Aligned to Post Doctoral Salary Scale) (Fixed Term Wholetime for up to 2 years) Reference: 569/2025

Location:
The post will be based at one of the TU Dublin Campuses i.e. Aungier Street, Bolton Street, Grangegorman, Blanchardstown or Tallaght.

Hours of Work:
A 37 hour working week is in operation.

Salary:
The successful candidate will be appointed aligned to point (01) of the Post-Doctoral Researcher Salary Scales for pay purposes only i.e. €48,896 gross per annum (pro-rata). Remuneration may be adjusted from time to time in line with Government pay policy. Incremental credit may apply in line with university policy.

It is anticipated that interviews for this post will take place in week beginning
28th January 2026
. The interview assessment will be

Essentials

* An Honours Degree from an approved degree awarding institution or equivalent in a scientific, engineering or closely related discipline (Essential)
* Research degree, normally MSc, MEng or PhD., in a scientific or engineering discipline (Essential)
* Strong understanding of international testing standards, techniques and methodologies used in industrial focused coatings and surface chemistry testing and research(Essential)
* Evidence of business development skills that has led to a strong collaboration record with industrial research partners(Essential)

Experience in an R&D focussed organisation (three years) in the public or private sector
(Essential)
Candidates will be shortlisted based on their demonstration of meeting every essential criterion so are asked to clearly outline how their experience and qualifications meet the criteria.
Desirables

* Strong understanding of the requirements of undertaking multiple R&D projects at the same time from a commercial perspective(Desirable)
* Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to present complex information effectively to a range of audiences(Desirable)
* Strong evidence of working in small teams to deliver projects in a timely manner(Desirable)
