Operational Excellence Specialist
The role of Operational Excellence Specialist is crucial in driving continuous improvement and efficiency across the site. Reporting to the site's Operational Excellence & Strategic Projects manager, this professional will be responsible for assisting in creating and leading the advancement of Operational Excellence principles and practices.
Main Responsibilities:
1. Maintain and continuously improve elements of the site's Operational Excellence program including Manufacturing Operating System (MOS) Tier Reviews, Sitewide 6S Program, and weekly Problem-Solving RCA Hub.
2. Promote and foster a culture of continuous improvement across the site.
3. Assist in identifying continuous improvement and efficiency opportunities across all direct manufacturing and support functions.
4. Lead and execute improvement projects, problem-solving activities, and Kaizen events using OpEx and Lean tools to ensure the site achieves its quality, productivity, efficiency, and cost improvement targets.
5. Gain Green Belt certification and progress to delivering site training for Yellow Belt, RCA, and 6S tools.
6. Utilize digital tools such as Power BI, Power Automate, and Power Apps to drive process improvements.
7. Function as a Change Agent to influence and inspire employees to engage with OpEx and identify opportunities to apply lean techniques, tools, and philosophies.
8. Manage the site Project Management Office (PMO) to drive timely delivery of site projects and programs required to enable the site to achieve its business commitments.
9. Maintain PMO performance dashboard and coordinate reviews of PMO progress.
10. Work collaboratively with site project managers and CFTs to develop project plans, establish timelines, and use project management tools.
11. Manage departmental and site KPIs and reporting, including maintaining site visual boards (digital and physical).
12. Maintain and drive visual management and data understanding throughout the plant, including assisting and mentoring other functions on site on data and digital analysis best practices.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in a related field, preferably in Manufacturing, Engineering, Science, or Quality discipline.
* 2 years' relevant experience in an equivalent role, preferably in OpEx, Continuous Improvement, or Manufacturing environment with experience in delivering continuous improvement.
* Lean Six Sigma or other Process Improvement methodologies experience.
* Power BI/Power Automate/Power App experience is an advantage.
* Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
