Organisational Background
Co-operative Housing Ireland is the national organisation representing, promoting, and developing co-operative housing in Ireland. Since our foundation in 1973, we have provided nearly 5,500 homes through homeownership, shared ownership, and social rented co-operatives. As an Approved Housing Body (AHB), we work with various stakeholders in the housing sector, including Local Authorities, Government, aspiring homeowners, tenants, and developers. We currently manage over 5,000 properties across Ireland.
Role:
Co-operative Housing Ireland is seeking to recruit a part-time, Health & Safety Officer. This role is based on a 24-hour week with a flexible working schedule. The position will be based at Co-operative Housing Ireland's Head Office in Warrington Place, Dublin 2, and will report to the Head of HR. Travel to other Co-operative Housing Ireland offices throughout Ireland may be required.
Responsibilities:
* Proactively provide workplace health & safety advice.
* Conduct safety audits, develop & deliver safety training, and produce risk assessments.
* Ensure safety statements are up to date with legislation and promote safety awareness.
* Chair the quarterly H&S employee representative group.
* Maintain records and produce reports for various stakeholders such as the board, internal newsletters, and insurers.
* Organise employee training or assessments as needed.
* Promote a safety awareness culture throughout Co-operative Housing Ireland at all levels.
Requirements:
* Previous relevant experience is desirable.
* Relevant third-level qualification.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Discreet and professional at all times, respecting confidentiality.
* Self-motivated with the ability to prioritise and work in a structured, organised manner.
