Job Title – Financial Controller – Revenue

Join to apply for the Financial Controller – Revenue role at Flutter Entertainment. Reporting to the Head of Revenue, the Financial Controller – Revenue will support the HoR in leading the Global Revenue team as part of GFC, responsible for Revenue accounting (FY24 > $10Bn) and Revenue-linked cost accounting across all Divisions of the Group. The role includes balance sheet control for Revenue and CoS accounting, and supports the maintenance and development of revenue processes and reporting infrastructure, in collaboration with Group Finance technology teams and the Polaris Transformation programme.
The FC will be a key point of contact for peer-level colleagues who support the Divisions for all GFC reporting and processing, and will have a wide range of corporate-level accounting responsibilities across divisional revenues, including the US, new markets, and jurisdictional integrations. The role also supports month-end and year-end close processes and the quarterly external audit process.
Strategic leadership, strong people management, and excellent communication, analytical, and reporting skills are prerequisites. Commercial acumen and the ability to build productive relationships with senior stakeholders are essential.
What you’ll do
* Support the HoR in integrating and developing the Revenue Controlling functions for all divisions, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and effectiveness.
* Implement a robust Governance & Control environment around Revenue & CoS recognition processes.
* Build frameworks to plan and prioritise the roll-out of automation projects within defined timelines.
* Develop a comprehensive understanding of the underlying dynamics of the reported businesses across relevant divisions.
* Maintain close connections with key internal and external Finance partners.
* Collaborate with the broader Group Finance Services leadership to ensure cohesive services to divisions.
* Demonstrate leadership as a senior member of the GFC and across the Finance team.
* Lead and develop team members, ensuring high-performance culture and adequate cross-training.
* Deliver automated revenue and CoS accounting for divisions.
* Prepare revenue and related costs for monthly Management Accounts and divisional reporting packs.
* Provide insights on the financial performance of each division and brand.
* Contribute to Annual Statutory Accounts for relevant entities and the Group.
* Perform regular financial analysis for business leaders.
* Manage external and internal audit processes and ensure compliance with product fee agreements where applicable.
* Ensure compliance with internal controls framework and group reconciliations policy.
* Drive continuous process improvement and automation within Finance.
* Maintain documentary evidence for key financial (SOX) controls and manage risk within divisional governance.
* Provide financial support and advice to operational business units.
* Ensure accuracy and timeliness of revenue and cost-related tax and regulatory returns and reporting requirements.
* Lead or contribute to other ad-hoc Finance tasks as required by divisional CFOs.
What you’ll need
* Qualified accountant with approximately 5+ years’ experience in industry or financial services, preferably in a multinational or plc environment.
* Knowledge of US GAAP reporting requirements.
* Strong academic track record, degree level.
* Assertive and confident, capable of working effectively with senior collaborators.
* Professional influencing skills and stakeholder management.
* Experience with SOX or similar regulatory environments and a background in financial process improvement.
* Experience delivering financial and non-financial metrics to senior stakeholders.
* Strong financial accounting experience and familiarity with current technical accounting issues.
* Experience with financial systems; Oracle Financials is an advantage.
* Experience in online betting, gaming, or e-commerce with an operational dimension is advantageous.
* Excellent MS Office skills, particularly Excel.
