Role Overview
* Provide reliable daily morning support in the warehouse so the Manager can focus on strategic projects. This is a hands-on, trainable role designed for someone with solid mid-level art-handling experience who wants to grow into a trusted position, including handling express local deliveries of Maurice Ward's new subsidiary conservation products range to nearby institutions.
Key Responsibilities and Daily Core Duties
* Receive inbound deliveries, check against paperwork, visual condition check, measure and label where required every incoming item.
* Enter/update accurate dimensions in the company's Freight Management System (FMS), apply locations in the FMS in real time.
* Re-wrap inadequately packed works to required storage standard.
* Weigh finished crates and forward weights/dimensions to Operations team.
* Pull, soft-pack and label outgoing online orders for courier collection or depot drop off.
* Prepare and execute express local deliveries of Maurice Ward conservation products (e.g., protective materials, packing supplies) to institutions within Dublin area, ensuring same-day turnaround and proper documentation.
* Keep warehouse aisles tidy, monitor stock levels and flag re-orders.
* Open and close the warehouse securely in the Manager's absence.
Supported Tasks (with training & oversight)
* Learn to order crates directly from suppliers once competent at measuring
(target: within 6–8 weeks).
- Assist with spot cycle-counts and full stock-takes.
- Gradually learn basic condition reporting and flagging issues for senior sign off.
- Shadow the Manager on customer audits and storage-client jobs to build knowledge.
- Support inventory and packing of conservation product range for local express shipments, including client pick-up coordination.
Candidate Profile
* Ability to follow existing SOPs strictly and suggest small practical improvements.
* Work collaboratively with technicians, drivers Ops staff and senior level managers.
* Help maintain a calm, respectful and safety-first warehouse culture, with emphasis on efficient handling of conservation product deliveries and best practice collection management.
* 3–5 years proven art-handling or museum/storage experience.
* Physically capable of regular safe lifting (framed works/crates up to 25 kg).
* Excellent attention to detail and pride in accuracy.
* Comfortable with computers/tablets (training given on our FMS, SQL and RFID system)
* Full clean driving licence required (preferable)
* Positive, proactive attitude, happy to learn on a continuous basis.
