About the Role
We are seeking a Junior QA Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team on a major Solar Farm construction project in Ireland.
The successful candidate will support the implementation and maintenance of quality management systems, ensuring all construction activities comply with project specifications, client requirements, and relevant Irish and EU standards.This role offers an excellent opportunity for a developing QA professional to gain experience in the renewable energy sector.
You will work closely with and receive guidance from an experienced QA Supervisor on site, ensuring ongoing support and professional development as you grow into the role.Key Responsibilities
Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of the Project Quality Plan and associated QA/QC procedures.
Conduct site inspections, audits, and material checks to ensure compliance with design specifications and standards.
Review and maintain Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Method Statements, and Quality Records.
Assist in non-conformance reporting (NCRs) and follow-up on corrective and preventive actions.
Support document control related to QA, including compilation of test reports, calibration certificates, and as-built records.
Collaborate with engineering, construction, and HSE teams to ensure integrated quality performance.
Participate in pre-installation checks, commissioning verification, and handover documentation.
Report quality metrics and contribute to continual improvement initiatives.
Work under the guidance and mentorship of the on-site QA Supervisor, ensuring adherence to project and client quality standards.
Qualifications and Experience
Trade Qualification or Bachelor's degree or diploma in Engineering, Construction Management, Quality, or related field.
Minimum 2 years' experience in QA/QC roles within the construction industry (civil, electrical, or renewable energy experience preferred).
Familiarity with ISO **** Quality Management Systems and Irish construction standards.
Experience working on large infrastructure, utility, or renewable projects is advantageous.
Proficient in MS Office and document management systems (e.g., Aconex, Procore, Sharepoint or similar).
Strong attention to detail, record-keeping, and communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple disciplines in a site-based environment.
