Services include residential long- and short-term care, dementia care, acquired brain injury care, respite care and home care support.Role OverviewWe are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance Team. This is an excellent opportunity to develop within an established and supportive organisation.The role involves ensuring the buildings, grounds, equipment and environment are maintained to a high standard, promoting the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all residents, staff and visitors.This position requires flexibility, with the successful candidate expected to work any 5 days over 7.Key ResponsibilitiesMaintain buildings, grounds, equipment and furniture to a high standard.Carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs and servicing as scheduled.Perform basic plumbing and electrical tasks within competence and report issues requiring specialist attention.Complete planned preventative maintenance and safety inspections.Ensure all areas of the home are clean, tidy and well presented.Assist with waste removal, including clinical waste, in line with safety procedures.Use the company van to deliver and collect stock, including food and supplies.Provide cover for the minibus driver when trained.Assist the Gardener with maintenance of the grounds and provide cover during periods of leave.Maintain accurate and comprehensive maintenance records.Report hazards, defects or ad-hoc repair needs promptly.Follow all health & safety, fire safety and infection-control procedures.Carry out other reasonably related duties as assigned within the scope of the role.Candidate RequirementsPrevious maintenance experience (healthcare or hotel environment an advantage).Fire safety awareness/experience.Good spoken and written English.Strong organisational and time-management skills.Attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team.Full clean driving licence.What We OfferPaid mandatory trainingSubsidised cafeDeath-in-Service Insurance benefitCompany pensionContinuous Professional Development opportunitiesEmployee referral schemeTax saver scheme (Bus, Rail, Bike to Work)Employee Assistance ProgrammeBike storageCompany eventsSick pay (as per policy)Additional InformationAll job offers are subject to:Satisfactory referencesGarda VettingPre-employment medical assessmentOrwell Healthcare is an equal opportunities employer.
