Overview of the Role
We are looking for a highly motivated and safety-conscious individual to take responsibility for the commercial and technical management of our site-based project. The successful candidate will oversee all on-site activities, ensuring that every task is completed in the safest possible manner, within specification, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards, in line with the client's Minimum Requirement (VMR).
Required Skills and Experience
1. IOSH Safety, Health and Environment for Construction Site Managers (SHE).
2. At least five years' experience working on multi-discipline site-based projects (mechanical, electrical, automation, commissioning).
3. At least five years' construction experience, preferably in a trade or supervisory role.
4. Valid Safe Pass
5. Experience in the water/wastewater industry is desirable.
6. Knowledge of the water/waste Water industry, construction methodologies, equipment and processes is desirable.
7. Strong leadership on health and safety, with the ability to empower others to ensure safe working practices.
8. Proactive and professional communication style.
9. Strong relationship management skills.
10. Excellent organisational and planning ability.
11. Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
12. The ability to lead, manage and actively contribute to project teams.
13. Strong problem-solving ability.
14. The capability to gather information and consult with the right team members to resolve issues as they arise.
As Site Manager, you will also be expected to carry out the following responsibilities:

Day-to-Day Responsibilities
18. Plan, manage and monitor construction activities while maintaining the highest standards of health, safety and environmental management.
19. Site hours are typically 7:30am to 5:30pm Monday to Friday
20. Review and understand design documentation, project programmes and construction methodologies for the assigned project.
21. Set teams to work and coordinate activities in line with the client's Minimum Requirements toolkit.
22. Ensure all plant and equipment are fit for purpose and inspected as required.
23. Review third-party RAMS/SSOW and prepare methodology sequencing to ensure compliance with the client's toolkit.
24. Promote and reinforce positive behaviours to encourage a proactive safety culture on site.
25. Identify and address unsafe behaviours and defects.
26. Investigate incidents in accordance with the client's policies.
27. Coordinate site activities to ensure smooth operations and avoid conflicts.
28. Deliver daily briefings to supervisors, employees and contractors.
29. Report on programme progress, identifying risks and opportunities, and provide the client with a three-week look ahead each week.
30. Maintain a quality log for each subcontractor and ensure that all defects are rectified promptly and effectively.
31. Conduct site health and safety inspections and audits in line with the client's requirements.
32. Ensure all personnel have completed a site-specific induction and that competencies are recorded in the site training matrix.
33. Fulfil all PSCS duties on site.
34. Manage subcontractor performance and escalate issues to the Project Manager where necessary.
35. Optimise workflow where possible to shorten project programmes.
36. Demonstrate commercial awareness and support in resolving disputes and claims.
37. Ensure ongoing compliance with the Environmental Plan, Waste Management Plan, Construction Health and Safety Plan, Emergency Plan and Project Schedule.
