Clinical Facilitator / Clinical Nurse Manager 2

The post holder will report to the Nurse Practice Development Co-ordinator, and are professionally accountable to the Director of Nursing
Responsibilities - The post holder will be responsible for;
* Implement the strategic vision and direction for nursing, and support nursing staff in Mercy University Hospital
* Provide clinical leadership for nursing which results in the delivery of effective, efficient, quality assured and patient centred nursing care.
* Ensure appropriate liaising and communication within the department of nursing and with members of the multidisciplinary team as necessary
* Be responsible for the assessment of standards of care of registered nurses who have commenced employment in the Mercy University Hospital in collaboration with CNM2/deputy
* Support clinical nurse managers, ward staff and competency development
* Attend relevant meetings as required
* Attend staff meetings and receive staff suggestions for improvements
* Ensure the clinical environment is conducive to supporting the learning and education of all staff
* Contribute to practice development and be involved in the writing of relevant policies, procedures, protocols and guidelines in liaison with practice development team.
* Participate in the identification, development and delivery of formal and informal induction, education, training and development programmes for Nursing staff
* The extent to which there is patient satisfaction with nursing care.
* The extent to which good working relationships are fostered and maintained throughout the nursing service and between nursing and other disciplines.
* The effectiveness of performance in relation to Human Resource management and development
Eligibility Criteria:
* Be registered in the General Division of the Register of Nurses kept by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland {NMBI}
* Have the clinical, managerial and administrative capacity to properly discharge the functions of the role
* Extensive recent experience in an acute hospital setting including at least 5 years post registration experience in such a setting and 2 years' experience in the related area.
* Will demonstrate evidence of a commitment to ongoing personal professional development
* Possess a 3rd level qualification at level 7 (ordinary degree) or higher is desirable
