Finance Coordinator
Remote working and part-time flexibility position.
Job Description
Threshold is a not-for-profit company limited by guarantee that helps prevent homelessness by providing free advice to people in housing difficulty and campaigning for a fairer housing system. Threshold wishes to enhance its finance team by the addition of a Finance Coordinator working closely with our Financial Controller and following appropriate on-the-job training where required.
What You'll Do
* Assist in ensuring that the organisation maintains adequate accounting records and complies with all matters of financial policy, laws and regulations.
* Preparation of monthly financial information including:
* Monthly book-keeping in Sage
* Monthly management accounts for review by the Financial Controller
* Analysis of credit card expenditures and reporting of same to the Treasurer for approval in advance of payment.
* Process monthly employee payments, to ensure accuracy and timely delivery by managing payroll data, calculating wages, handling deductions (taxes, benefits, pensions), and maintain compliance with financial regulations and company policy. Act as a key liaison who resolves employee's pay-related queries and work with HR to ensure smooth operations.
* Preparation of annual payroll budget figures and other payroll calculations as required to reflect WRC agreements.
* Preparation of budget information to support applications for funding.
* Preparation of quarterly reports with supporting information in the manner required by funders.
* Review employee expense submissions to ensure compliance with expenses policy and the adequacy of documentation, particularly as regards any VAT input credits and other taxation implications.
* Supervise the Accounts Payable Administrator to ensure:
* Supplier invoices comply with relevant Revenue requirements, and all appropriate approvals for the invoices have been received in advance of releasing for payment; and
* The accuracy of weekly payment runs for authorisation by Financial Controller
* Supporting the management team to comply with procurement and other financial policies.
* Carrying out such other tasks as may be required from time to time and maintaining flexibility in approach to the role to meet the needs of the organisation as it grows and develops and as circumstances require.
Who we are looking for
* Professional recognised accounting qualification or to be part qualified or equivalent is desirable.
* Proficient in MS packages e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook,
* Knowledge of Sage accounts and Sage payroll or similar packages will be advantageous.
* Self-starter, with a willingness to learn and enthusiasm for work
* Ability to meet deadlines with attention to detail and accuracy and a "can-do" mindset
* Proven experience in providing financial reports to management and external stakeholders, i.e. funders.
