My client, a leading global financial services organisation, is seeking an
Assistant Vice President (AVP) – Custody Oversight
to join their Trustee & Depositary function in Dublin. This is a specialist oversight role, offering excellent exposure to global custody networks, asset safekeeping responsibilities, and senior stakeholder interaction.
This position is best suited to candidates with a
Depositary, Network Management or Global Custody Oversight
background and does
not
align with candidates coming solely from operational custody roles such as settlements or reconciliations.
The Role
As Custody Oversight AVP, you will support the oversight of global delegated custody and sub-custodian arrangements to ensure asset safekeeping and compliance with regulatory requirements. You will contribute to due diligence reviews, market risk assessments and oversight controls, while working closely with senior colleagues and external stakeholders.
This is a small, collaborative team of five, with strong visibility across the wider global Depositary organisation.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the oversight and monitoring of global delegated custody and sub-custodian arrangements.
* Assist with due diligence reviews, ongoing performance monitoring and annual assessments.
* Conduct market reviews, horizon scanning and assess the impact of regulatory or geopolitical events (e.g., sanctions, Russia-Ukraine).
* Review control frameworks, identify risks and contribute to enhancements that strengthen the oversight process.
* Prepare and deliver oversight MI, risk reporting and performance indicators for senior management and internal forums.
* Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders, affiliates, sub-custodians and external providers.
* Escalate material issues promptly and provide informed guidance on asset safety and oversight matters.
* Support regulatory developments, industry change assessments and internal improvement initiatives.
About You

Role Requirements:
* Experience in custody oversight, delegate monitoring, or sub-custodian due diligence.
* Knowledge of UCITS and/or AIFMD regulatory obligations relating to safekeeping.
* Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills with confidence engaging at senior level.
* Ability to interpret market and regulatory developments, assess risk and exercise sound judgement.
* Highly organised, analytical and capable of prioritising in a time-sensitive environment.
* Third-level qualification in Business, Finance, Legal or related field (preferred).
