Job Title: Manager, GQO Accounting and Financial Compliance
The Manager, GQO Accounting and Financial Compliance will report to the Senior Director, Compliance & ERP Standardization, and oversee the Group’s financial compliance and internal control programs. This role supports GQO’s accounting and finance organization to ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, local statutory reporting requirements, and adherence to Stryker’s global accounting policies.
This individual will collaborate with Stryker’s global accounting and finance teams, the Finance, Training and Development (FTD) team, and GQO franchises to support training on accounting policies and guidance. They will also communicate and enforce global accounting policies and serve as a key contact for proposing and evaluating policy enhancements.
The role involves supporting Internal Control over Financial Reporting, including maintaining risk/control frameworks, risk assessments, control documentation, and training. The position will work closely with ARA and external auditors to ensure effective management of the control environment, handling both business process and IT controls across multiple ERP systems globally. The role includes identifying best practices, process improvements, and remediation of control deficiencies.
Additional Responsibilities
* Lead compliance initiatives across approximately 45 manufacturing sites within the GQO organization, collaborating with site and divisional finance leaders to strengthen internal controls.
* Oversee activities related to risk assessments, compliance with enterprise and statutory ledgers, intercompany management, internal control remediation, M&A controls, legal entity management, tax strategies, financial reporting systems, and various account reconciliations.
* Provide accounting support to Divisional Finance Leaders and interact regularly with GQO Controllers to maintain a robust internal control and compliance environment.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance; CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
* 8+ years of relevant progressive experience.
* Experience with corporate financial reporting, manufacturing accounting, foreign currency, internal controls, and process improvement initiatives.
* Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data strategically.
* Effective influencing skills and ability to drive consensus across global locations.
* Ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly to all levels, including senior leadership.
* Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating creativity and initiative.
