Job Description
About the role: Xenon Building Technology Ltd is expanding and is seeking an experienced Fire & Security Systems Engineer to join our growing team. This is a full‑time, field‑based role based in Carlow, with work carried out at client sites nationwide.
Responsibilities

Plan and manage work independently while ensuring full understanding of project and client requirements.
Install, commission, fault‑find, maintain, repair, and upgrade electronic security systems, including CCTV, access control, and intruder alarms.
Install, commission, service, and maintain fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
Lead troubleshooting on complex technical issues.
Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
Ensure all work is completed in compliance with industry standards, health and safety requirements, and company procedures.
Conduct system demonstrations for clients and provide technical support where necessary.

Qualifications & Skills

Minimum 5 years’ experience in the Fire & Security industry.
Proven hands‑on experience across CCTV, access control, intruder alarm, fire alarm, and emergency lighting systems.
Electronic Security Systems Qualification or Electrical Craft Certificate (QQI Level 6 or equivalent) preferred.
Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
Full valid EU driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

Safe Pass certification.
Manual Handling certification.

Eligibility
Applicants must have permission to live and work in Ireland. Employment permit applications may be considered for suitably qualified candidates where applicable.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary: €40,000 - €60,000 gross per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
Benefits include: company vehicle, fuel card for work‑related travel, pension, and overtime/on‑call allowance as required.
Work Hours
40 hours per week (Monday to Friday). Paid overtime and participation in an on‑call rota may be required depending on business needs.
