one permanent whole time (1.0 WTE)
vacancy available for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist (SLT). The successful candidate will be based in Naas General Hospital.
This post will cover the 10 bedded Stroke unit in Naas General Hospital, and inpatients presenting with stroke and neurological conditions on other acute wards.
A panel may be formed as a result of this campaign for 1.0 WTE Senior SLT from which current and future, permanent and specified purpose vacancies of full or part-time duration may be filled.

Purpose of the Post
To be responsible for the provision of a high quality SLT service to inpatients post stroke, and inpatients presenting with neurological conditions, in accordance with standards of professional practice.
To work as part of the acute SLT team and the multidisciplinary stroke team in Naas General Hospital, to co-ordinate and develop the services in line with the objectives of the organisation
To report to and collaborate with the SLT Manager to ensure the co-ordination, development and delivery of a quality, client centred speech & language therapy service for patients of Naas General Hospital
Eligibility Criteria
* Statutory Registration, Professional Qualifications, Experience, etc
Candidates must, at the latest date of application,:
(i) Be registered, or be eligible for registration, as a Speech & Language Therapist by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Have 3 years full time (or an aggregate of 3 years full time) post qualification clinical experience.
AND
(iii) Candidates must have the requisite knowledge and ability (including a high standard of suitability and professional ability) for the proper discharge of the duties of the office.
AND
(iv) Provide proof of Statutory Registration on the Speech & Language Therapist Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU before a contract of employment can be issued.
* Annual Registration
(i) On appointment, practitioners must maintain annual registration on the Speech & Language Therapists Register maintained by the Speech & Language Therapists Registration Board at CORU.
AND
(ii) Practitioners must confirm annual registration with CORU to the HSE by way of the annual Patient Safety Assurance Certificate (PSAC).

Candidates for and any person holding the office must be fully competent and capable of undertaking the duties attached to the office and be in a state of health such as would indicate a reasonable prospect of ability to render regular and efficient service.
