Job Overview:
The role of a Health Care Support Worker is to provide high-quality care and support to individuals in their own homes, enabling them to live safely and happily. This involves assisting with personal care tasks, such as bathing and dressing, as well as supporting with meal preparation and light housekeeping.
Key Responsibilities:
* Practice and maintain the most up-to-date safety procedures, including Person Moving and Handling
* Report any concerns related to customers or colleagues to your manager
* Document all tasks completed with customers accurately and factually in daily logs
* Maintain confidentiality at all times
* Attend scheduled training and work within safe and professional boundaries
* Ensure each task performed with customers is completed with dignity and respect
* Encourage autonomy and decision-making in customers
* Engage in conversation with customers throughout shifts, using a professional tone
* Attend shifts as scheduled and notify the office if unable to attend or late
Required Qualifications and Training:
* QQI Level 5 Health Care Award or equivalent
* Children's First – HSE LAND
* Safeguarding – HSE LAND
* Dementia Training – HSE LAND
* GDPR Training – HSE LAND
* AMRIC Basics of Infection Prevention and Control – HSE LAND
* AMRIC Hand Hygiene – HSE LAND
* Putting on and taking off PPE in Community Healthcare- HSE LAND
