NexVentur is seeking a Site Engineer (Setting Out) to join a leading, award-winning Irish main contractor for a residential development in Co. Offaly.
Our client is known for delivering high-end projects across Ireland, and this project has a 2 year duration.
This project involves a large-scale residential development, along with associated infrastructure and site works. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with strong technical setting-out skills to join a progressive company, with the use of modern construction technologies.
Role & Responsibilities
* Reporting to the Project Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day technical engineering and precision setting out on-site.
* Accurately setting out, levelling, and surveying the site for various elements including foundations, structural frames, drainage, services, and roadways.
* Reading and interpreting site plans, structural drawings, and BIM models to ensure all construction is carried out in strict accordance with design specifications.
* Proficient use of Total Stations, GPS, and other surveying instruments to maintain high levels of accuracy.
* Monitoring the quality of workmanship and materials on-site, ensuring adherence to building regulations and the company's "Building Safely Together" culture.
* Maintaining accurate records, including site diaries, survey reports, as-built drawings, and quality control documentation using digital platforms (e.g., Procore).
* Working closely with the site management team and subcontractors to resolve technical issues and ensure project milestones are met on schedule and within budget.
Skills & Experience
* Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related Construction discipline.
* 2–3+ years' experience in a Site Engineer role, specifically with a background in setting out for residential or large-scale building projects.
* Strong competency in the use of AutoCAD and surveying equipment (Topcon/Leica).
* Experience with digital construction software and BIM is highly advantageous.
* Good understanding of HSA regulations. A commitment to promoting a "Safety First" environment is essential.
* Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with project stakeholders, subcontractors, and the wider site team.
* A full, clean driving licence and the ability to work on-site in Athlone.
