Role Summary
We are looking for a seasoned R&D leader to spearhead a newly established global initiative focused on cardiovascular technologies.
This position will oversee cross-functional teams across multiple international locations and play a pivotal role in driving product innovation and development within a collaborative medical device environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Technical Leadership
Lead the planning and execution of a global device development program.
Oversee project timelines, resource allocation, and budget adherence.
Collaborate with clinical experts to gain insights into unmet medical needs and translate them into product concepts.
Ensure technical excellence and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
Team Management
Directly and indirectly manage a diverse team including engineers, technicians, and a project manager.
Provide mentorship and guidance to team members to support their professional growth.
Conduct regular performance reviews and team meetings to drive engagement and accountability.
Promote a culture of inclusion, respect, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Collaboration
Work closely with global R&D counterparts and cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharing.
Identify and engage with external partners and suppliers to support product development.
Contribute to the development and protection of intellectual property within the cardiovascular portfolio.
Quality & Compliance
Ensure all activities align with internal quality standards and external regulatory requirements.
Maintain high standards of safety, ethics, and professionalism in all aspects of the role.
Communicate project status, risks, and milestones effectively to stakeholders.
Candidate Profile
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
At least 10 years of experience in medical device R&D, with a strong track record of bringing products to market.
Minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, managing and developing engineering teams.
Prior experience with cardiovascular specifically embolization technologies is highly desirable.
Skills & Attributes
Strong leadership and project management capabilities.
Excellent communication and technical writing skills.
Deep understanding of medical device materials and design principles.
Familiarity with intellectual property processes and global regulatory standards (ISO, FDA, EU).
Willingness to travel internationally as needed.
