Improving Food Environments and Promoting Healthy Lifestyles
The position of Community Food and Nutrition Worker is a crucial role within the Health and Wellbeing Department. The primary objective of this role is to enhance community health and wellbeing in designated areas by addressing food poverty and promoting healthy diets.
Key responsibilities include collaborating with colleagues to pilot or improve programs targeting food poverty and other relevant issues affecting disadvantaged groups. The post-holder will work with statutory and community organizations to develop and implement evidence-based responses aimed at improving the food environment, reducing health inequalities, and promoting healthy lifestyles.
Success in this position requires a minimum of a Level 8 qualification in nutrition and health, along with significant experience in health promotion and improvement, health behavior change, and working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders. Strong communication and presentation skills are essential for effectively engaging with diverse audiences.
