Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Outsourced Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage the preparation of monthly management accounts and VAT returns for our diverse client portfolio, ranging from small indigenous companies to larger international subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to work independently to deliver accurate and timely financial reports in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and lead schedules.
* Ensure all financial records are accurate and up to date.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
* Prepare and submit VAT returns (VAT3s, RTDs & VIES) in compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
* Ensure timely filing of VAT returns to avoid penalties and interest.
* Reconcile VAT accounts and resolve discrepancies.
* Manage online accounting packages and ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
* Perform bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
* Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
* Liaise with internal/external auditors, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
* Experience with RCT is an advantage but not essential.
* Work closely with clients’ internal teams to gather financial information.
* Communicate effectively with clients to explain financial matters and respond to inquiries.
* Collaborate with the RBK Outsourced Accounting Team.
* Provide training and support on accounting systems and processes as needed.
Key Competencies
* Minimum of 6 years' experience in bookkeeping.
* Proven experience in management accounts and VAT returns.
* Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, Chartered Accountants Ireland, or Accounting Technician) is desirable but not essential with adequate experience.
* Practice experience is advantageous.
* Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations.
* Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks Online, Xero, DEXT, AutoEntry, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
* Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage time effectively.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
