Supplier Manufacturing Engineer – Clonmel

This role supports manufacturing operations to facilitate efficient operations, optimises processes, and ensures production goals are met.
Purpose Statement
Provides support to the manufacturing organisation to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, optimises existing processes, and ensures that production goals are met. Monitors equipment, machines and tools, addressing issues causing non‑conforming products, low yields, or product quality problems. Interfaces with quality and R&D teams to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
Key Responsibilities
Establish incoming inspection and test procedures and provide technical support to manufacturing to resolve material or supplier related issues.
Develop new supply sources with purchasing team and qualify components to specified parameters.
Assess potential new suppliers for technical and manufacturing capabilities and provide technical support for the introduction of components from new suppliers.
Manage projects to reduce material costs or reduce material supply risks.
Work with Receiving Inspection group to improve inspection processes where applicable.
Lead Process Improvement teams relating to component usage or design.
Review material specification releases and revisions as required.
Investigate field failures related to supplier materials and develop corrective action plans.
Manage/participate in teams to conduct business risk assessments and develop action plans to reduce or eliminate risks.
Education & Job Skills
Full NFQ Level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline (180 ECTS credits) and 2+ years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Working technical knowledge and application of concepts, practices and procedures; general understanding of business unit/group function.
Experience in a quality system environment with knowledge of relevant regulations.
Ability to analyse problems of moderate to high complexity and exercise judgment within defined procedures.
Leadership skills: ability to guide less experienced staff, mentor, and lead project teams of moderate scope.
Planning and organisational skills to prioritise daily workload to meet established schedule.
Effective communication skills to prepare reports, publications and deliver presentations.
Awareness of business policies, customer needs and emerging technology trends.
