Job Title: Data Architect
We are seeking an experienced Data Architect to join our Customer Solutions Data team as a long-term daily rate contractor. This role offers hybrid working options.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will serve as a Data Architect at a management level, responsible for data management and architectural practices within the area. They will contribute to the strategic direction of data concepts and technologies, providing guidance on all aspects of data engineering, governance, and analytics. Additionally, they will ensure compliance with architectural standards.
Key Accountabilities:
1. To input into the strategic direction of data architecture, driving improvements in delivery, technology, and structure.
2. Responsibility for the integrity of local data infrastructure, ensuring that designs meet operational requirements, defined roadmaps and strategies, and quality standards.
3. Explore and clarify architectural data requirements for all internal projects, encompassing the collection, cleansing, storage, sharing, and use of data.
4. Provide guidance and best practices for data management and governance.
5. Responsible for conceptual and logical data models used in IL.
6. Work cross-functionally to integrate modern BI tools and approaches with legacy data warehouses.
7. Meet audit & reporting obligations of the role, particularly in relation to GDPR.
8. Collaborate with, build & maintain strong relationships with internal & external stakeholders, other functions across the group (e.g. ExO and Connected Data), and with external partners.
9. Possitively impact leadership and culture of the overall commercial & analytics department.
Desired Knowledge / Experience / Skills:
* Continuing Professional Development/Regulatory: Ensure compliance with Company policies, regulatory, professional, and legal requirements.
* Education: 3rd-level degree in IT/Computer Science/Data or equivalent, or relevant business or technical experience.
* Experience: At least 5 years experience in data architecture, data modelling, data warehousing.
* Techincal Ability: Strong understanding of data management principles and best practices.
* Judgement and Commercial Awareness: Strong blend of technical ability, judgement and commercial awareness.
* Problem Solving and Analytical Skills: Strong problem solving and analytical skills.

* Broad Technology Experience: Broad technology experience current & future tools in use include Snowflake, SQL Server (DB and Analysis Services), Oracle, Azure, Power BI (On-Prem And Service), Tableau.
* Industry Trends: Knowledge of industry trends, directions, roadmaps, capability models and frameworks.
* Data Governance and Quality Frameworks: Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks.
* Leadership and Influencing: Evidence of leadership and ability to influence peers and colleagues.
