Senior Account Director / Account Director
to play a key role in delivering strategic healthcare communications programmes, managing senior client relationships, and supporting the development of high-performing teams.
This role is ideal for an established communications leader who thrives in a fast-paced agency environment and is looking to deepen their impact in healthcare communications while continuing to grow toward more senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities
Client Leadership & Strategic Delivery
* Act as a day-to-day senior client lead for healthcare accounts, providing trusted communications counsel and strategic guidance.
* Support the development and execution of integrated corporate communications programmes, aligned to client objectives and business priorities.
* Build strong, long-term client relationships, ensuring high levels of service, satisfaction, and delivery excellence.
Campaign Management
* Oversee the planning and delivery of multi-channel communications campaigns, including media relations, corporate positioning, executive profiling, issues management, and digital activity.
* Ensure campaigns are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard.
* Track and evaluate campaign performance, contributing insights and recommendations for optimisation.
Team Leadership & Mentorship
* Manage and mentor account teams, providing clear direction, feedback, and development support.
* Foster a collaborative, supportive team culture that encourages high performance and professional growth.
* Play a hands-on role in guiding junior team members and building healthcare communications capability.
Healthcare Expertise & Insights
* Maintain a strong understanding of the healthcare landscape, including industry trends, regulatory considerations, and stakeholder dynamics.
* Apply sector knowledge to inform communications strategies and strengthen client outcomes.
Business Development Support
* Support business development activity by contributing to proposals, pitches, and credential documents.
* Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts and expand healthcare communications offerings.
Agency Collaboration
* Work closely with colleagues across disciplines and geographies to deliver integrated solutions.
* Contribute to internal initiatives, knowledge-sharing, and the ongoing evolution of the healthcare practice.
Key Skills & Experience
Experience
* 6–8+ years' experience in public relations or communications, with a strong focus on healthcare.
* Proven experience managing complex accounts and delivering integrated communications programmes.
* Agency experience strongly preferred.
Skills
* Strong strategic thinking and project management skills.
* Excellent media relations experience, including issues and reputation management.
* Confident communicator with strong writing, presentation, and client-facing abilities.
