Role description:
We have an exciting opportunity for Chartered Building Surveyor looking to elevate their career and become a key member of our thriving Technical Due Diligence (TDD) & Building Surveying team, based in Dublin. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to high-profile projects across Ireland, with the exciting potential to collaborate on assignments throughout the UK and across Europe.
Core responsibilities will largely relate to preparing Technical Due Diligence surveys for property acquisitions and disposals, building surveys and professional services including dilapidations, contract administration, and defect analysis; with potential flexibility to accommodate the specific skill sets and aspirations of the applicant.
The successful candidate is expected to be technically excellent, with a broad experience of commercial surveying including Technical Due Diligence and condition surveys. With a mixed and varied workload the candidate must also be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple instructions.
The candidate will largely be focused on service delivery, often working as part of a larger commission team and supporting to achieve exceptional outcomes for our clients. The candidate should be confident in dealing directly with our clients and occupiers.
The candidate will be required to manage their time effectively to meet deadlines and ensuring time expended aligns with the cost forecast to ensure profitability of instructions, (financial performance responsibility)
Role accountabilities:
* The key focus of our TDD advice and reporting is to identify key risks, the severity and quantification of these risks, along with recommendations for mitigation. Our advice needs to ensure that our clients achieve maximum value from their built assets with a clear understanding of risk. The role includes predominantly Technical Due Diligence along with some Project Management across a range of building types although largely commercial.
* The position includes a relatively high level of responsibility and accountability with an opportunity to develop managerial as well as technical knowledge and skills, and to progress within a successful and growing specialist team.
* You will manage and undertake professional technical consultancy commissions including Technical Due Diligence, condition surveys and infrequently dilapidations and some projects etc.
* You will effectively communicate ensuring all information is available for the successful implementation and completion of projects.
* Liaise with the Arcadis Project Manager and Team Leader to ensure efficient financial control resulting in a cost effective service.
* You will ensure the Arcadis Project Manager and Team Leader have quantified information on the progress of each contract on a regular basis
* You will support with mentoring and supervising our junior building surveyors
Qualifications & Experience:
* Degree in Building Surveying and MRICS qualified
