Job Description:
As a senior leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple business units, ensuring effective scheduling, resource allocation, and consistently on-time delivery. You will continuously evaluate and improve operational workflows and management systems, using data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies and implement measurable improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of multiple business units, ensuring effective scheduling, resource allocation, and consistently on-time delivery.
2. Continuously evaluate and improve operational workflows and management systems, using data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies and implement measurable improvements.
3. Set and deliver operational KPIs, including route performance, turnaround times, delivery accuracy, and cost efficiency, leveraging technology for real-time tracking and reporting.
4. Ensure full compliance with all transport legislation, including driver hours, vehicle safety, and industry regulations, embedding best-practice procedures across the business.
5. Ensure strict adherence to approved financial targets while driving initiatives to achieve sustained financial performance and optimize resource allocation.
Qualifications and Skills:
1. Proven experience as an Operations Manager or similar senior role within a transportation, logistics, or warehousing environment.
2. Strong analytical mindset with the ability to evaluate operational and systems data, identify trends, and implement practical improvements.
3. Comprehensive understanding of transport logistics, route optimization, compliance, and workforce planning.
4. Demonstrated leadership experience, with a track record of managing teams, driving performance, and leading operational change.
5. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and experience with Transport Management Systems (TMS) or planning systems.
6. A relevant degree in logistics, operations, or a related field is advantageous.
7. Full, clean drivers' license (Road Transport Operator Licence holder desirable).
