Role Purpose
This is an exciting opportunity to work within an interdisciplinary team, providing quality physiotherapy services to children and young people with complex needs.
The scope of the post includes conducting home and school visits when necessary, physiotherapy and MDT assessments and interventions. It also involves providing orthotics, 24-hour postural management equipment, participating in group interventions, IFSPS, and liaising with all relevant agencies involved in the child's care, such as hospital-based and specialist services. Opportunities for hydrotherapy and equine therapy are also available.
Key Responsibilities
* Carrying out physiotherapy assessments, planning, and implementing child and family-centred physiotherapy programmes.
* Providing education, training, and support to families, schools, and wider communities as part of the interdisciplinary team.
* Managing and prioritising caseloads based on the clinical needs of children.
* Organising and co-ordinating orthotic, seating, and other postural management clinics.
* Attending and participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and external appointments relevant to the child's needs.
* Participating in family support planning meetings and providing physiotherapy input aligned with the child's goals.
* Leading and contributing to CDNT quality improvement initiatives, including service development, in-service training, and resource evaluation within the physiotherapy role.
* Demonstrating awareness of accountability and value for money in the provision of physiotherapy equipment.
* Representing the profession/team at meetings and conferences as designated by CDNM.
* Promoting and delivering supports in line with the principles of Progressing Disability Services for Children and Young People, working as part of an interdisciplinary team providing family-centred services according to national and legislative policies.
* Adhering to Stewarts Care policies, procedures, and guidelines, and acting in accordance with national guidelines for Progressing Disability Services.
* Maintaining accurate interdisciplinary records, reports, and statistics as required by CDNM.
* Ensuring confidentiality is always maintained.
Role Requirements
Essential Criteria
* Hold a physiotherapy qualification recognised by the Physiotherapists Registration Board at CORU. Candidates must state their CORU registration number on the application or provide the CORU application number and submission date if still awaiting registration.
* Have at least three years of full-time (or equivalent) post-qualification clinical experience.
Desirable Criteria
* Experience working with children.
* Experience in the area of disabilities.
* Experience with 24-hour postural management and orthotic assessment.
* Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in physical and intellectual disability areas.
