A well-established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy company is seeking a Senior Electrical Design Engineer in Cork.
About the Role
As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you'll play a leading role in designing innovative electrical systems for a wide range of building projects. You'll work closely with clients, project engineers, and multidisciplinary teams, ensuring every solution meets the highest technical standards and delivers real value.
Responsibilities:
– Lead the design and specification of electrical engineering solutions for buildings, ensuring compliance with all current regulations and standards.
– Collaborate directly with clients and project teams to define requirements and develop tailored technical solutions.
– Oversee pre-construction activities, including design development, service coordination, technical submittals, and sub-contract management.
– Provide technical support to estimating, procurement, commercial, and project bid teams.
– Offer off-site technical support to construction teams as needed.
– Mentor and support junior staff, helping them grow and develop their skills.
Requirements:
– Strong technical expertise in all aspects of electrical engineering services and design.
– Third level qualification in Electrical or Building Services Engineering.
– At least 7 years' relevant experience, ideally within a design consultancy environment.
– In-depth knowledge of current design guides, Building Regulations, EN and IEC standards.
– Experience with Electrical Design Software such as Dialux and Amtech or equivalent.
– Proven experience working with clients, vendors, and contractors.
– A proactive approach and the ability to work well within multifunctional project teams.
– Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
