Process / Maintenance Engineer – Westport, Co. Mayo (12-Month FTC)
A leading global biopharma manufacturer in Westport, Co. Mayo is seeking a
Process Engineer or Maintenance Engineer
with a
Level 7+ engineering qualification
to join their team. This is a hands-on role providing day-to-day technical support to production and packaging lines in a regulated, high-volume environment.
About the Role
This position focuses heavily on
line support, troubleshooting, and equipment performance
. You will work closely with operations to ensure equipment reliability, optimise processes, and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide frontline engineering support to production and packaging lines
* Troubleshoot equipment issues and drive improvements in uptime and reliability
* Analyse equipment performance and implement corrective and preventive actions
* Support continuous improvement activities, including OEE, lean tools, and root cause analysis
* Manage small engineering projects and collaborate with vendors
* Ensure processes, equipment, and documentation comply with GMP and site quality standards
Requirements
* Level 7+ qualification in Mechanical, Electrical or Process Engineering
* Experience in automated manufacturing (pharmaceutical experience is an advantage)
* Strong troubleshooting and hands-on technical skills
* Knowledge of GMP or other regulated manufacturing environments
* Excellent problem-solving, communication and documentation abilities
