Quantity Surveyor – Mechanical & ElectricalLocation:West of Ireland / North-West / South-West (Regional Projects)Employment Type:Full-Time, PermanentThe OpportunityWe are partnering with a well-established Irish mechanical and electrical contractor to recruit an experiencedQuantity Surveyorto support the commercial delivery of M&E projects across regional sites.This role is suited to a commercially focused quantity surveyor with experience in the mechanical and electrical sector, who is comfortable managing costs across multiple projects and working closely with project management and site teams.Key ResponsibilitiesCommercial ManagementManage all commercial aspects of mechanical and electrical projects from pre-contract through to final accountPrepare cost plans, budgets, and cash-flow forecasts for live projectsMonitor project costs, identify variances, and report accurately to senior managementSupport project teams with commercial advice and cost control strategiesProcurement & Subcontract ManagementPrepare and issue subcontract packages and tender enquiriesEvaluate subcontractor and supplier returns and make recommendations for appointmentManage subcontractor accounts, including valuations, variations, and final accountsMaintain accurate records of procurement and contractual correspondenceValuations & ReportingPrepare monthly valuations and applications for paymentAssess and agree subcontractor valuationsManage change control and variation accountsAssist in the preparation of final accounts and project close-out documentationContractual & Risk ManagementSupport the administration of contracts and ensure compliance with contractual obligationsIdentify commercial and contractual risks and assist in mitigation strategiesMaintain accurate cost reporting and forecasting systemsCollaboration & Stakeholder EngagementWork closely with project managers, engineers, and site teams to ensure commercial alignmentLiaise with clients, consultants, and supply chain partners as requiredContribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and systemsCandidate ProfileEssentialProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within mechanical and electrical or building services contractingStrong understanding of M&E cost structures, procurement, and subcontract managementExperience managing multiple live construction projectsStrong numerical, analytical, and reporting skillsExcellent communication and stakeholder management abilitiesFull driving licence and willingness to travel regionallyDesirableDegree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Economics, or related disciplineExperience working on healthcare, pharmaceutical, commercial, or public sector projectsFamiliarity with standard forms of construction contractExperience working in BIM-enabled or coordinated project environmentsWhat's on OfferCompetitive salary package aligned with experienceCompany vehicleStrong pipeline of regional projectsLong-term career progression opportunitiesSupportive and collaborative team environment
