Senior Controls Software Engineer with strong PLC / HMI programming experience required by growing company in Co. Clare. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, implementation and validation of control systems for cutting-edge automated production and test equipment. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the next generation of intelligent manufacturing systems.
Key Requirements:
* Degree (Level 7 or 8) in Automation, Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent).
* 5+ years experience in a PLC programming role.
* Strong PLC and HMI programming experience.
* Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
* Familiarity with robotics, pneumatic and servo motion control systems.
* Solid understanding of machine safety standards.
* Creative and analytical approach to problem-solving.
* Excellent time management and task prioritisation.
* Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
* Capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Development of PLC and HMI code for custom automated assembly and test equipment.
* Write and implement control software for new machinery.
* Commission and validate both new and modified control systems.
* Manage software upgrades and deployment across relevant equipment.
* Provide hands-on technical support during design, build, debug and commissioning phases.
* Document all aspects of system development and updates.
* Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and targets.
