Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join our team as an Assistant Vice President, Associate General Counsel.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-level legal advice and support to the business, including negotiation of contracts, management of regulatory affairs, and provision of training and guidance to colleagues.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in insurance law, with experience of working in a corporate setting and dealing with UK and EU laws and regulations. They will also possess excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide high-level legal advice and support to the business
* Negotiate contracts and manage regulatory affairs
* Provision of training and guidance to colleagues
* Monitor and advise on legal and regulatory updates
* Handle and assist with insurance regulatory and compliance matters
* Maintain good relationships with outside counsel
* Work effectively with the Legal & Compliance Department globally
Requirements:
* An attorney with three to six years of total legal experience
* A qualified/licensed solicitor in England and/or Ireland
* A strong insurance and reinsurance background
* A strong working knowledge of UK and EU laws and regulations
* Experience dealing with the CBI, FCA, PRA and/or Lloyd's
* Excellent communication and organizational skills
* Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
