Job Purpose:To carry out Legionella risk assessments, monitoring, and control measures in accordance with ACoP L8, HSG274, and relevant health & safety legislation. The technician ensures water systems are maintained in a safe and compliant condition to prevent Legionella and other waterborne pathogens.Key Responsibilities:Perform routine monitoring and inspection tasks, including:Temperature checksTank inspectionsTank Cleaning and DisinfectionsShowerhead cleaning and disinfectionTMV (Thermostatic Mixing Valve) servicingTake water samples for microbiological analysis and ensure accurate logging.Complete flushing regimes on infrequently used outlets.Install and maintain water system monitoring equipment.Record findings clearly and accurately using paper and digital systems.Identify non-compliance issues and escalate, as necessary.Advise clients on remedial actions and best practices.Ensure adherence to Health & Safety and COSHH guidelines.Maintain tools, equipment, and PPE in good condition.Skills & Qualifications:Experience in water hygiene or Legionella control (1+ years preferred).Understanding of ACoP L8, HSG274, and Water Regulations.City & Guilds (or equivalent) Legionella Control certification (desirable).Full clean driving license.Strong communication and customer service skills.IT literate (Microsoft Office, report writing tools).Personal Attributes:Methodical and detail oriented.Self-motivated and capable of working independently.Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.Professional and respectful in customer environments.Desirable (Not Essential):Plumbing or water treatment background.Knowledge of closed system sampling and testing.Experience with digital compliance systems.
